St Martins reredos
Dorking, Surrey UK
St Martins Church is an Anglican parish church. It is a Grade 11* listed building. Surviving parts of the structure date back to the Middle Ages. In the 19th century it was refurbished to the designs of architect Henry Woodryer. The reredos was cleaned and conserved by Cliveden Conservation.
The brief was to prepare and gild all the elements originally gilded on the reredos. Whilst repairing the gilding areas of stone work, red paint was found, this was colour matched and re-applied.
