St Nicolas is a parish church of Newbury in Berkshire. Unusually large for its size the present church was rebuilt between 1509 – 1533. It is in the style of perpendicular period and is Grade 1 Listed. The brief was to repaint and gild the clock face in situ on the south west of the tower. A year later the clock face on the other side of the tower was taken down to be repainted and gilded using 23.5ct transfer.
